Guest Blog: Air Quality Affects Birds

Olivia Sanderfoot is a birder who studies the impacts of air pollution on our feathered friends and was a 2022 Ignite@AGU speaker, co-hosted by NASA’s Earth Science Division and ESIP at the American Geophysical Union Fall Meeting.

In her guest blog, Sanderfoot builds off her Ignite@AGU talk and encourages collaboration across Earth science disciplines to save birds. The article includes beautiful, detailed photos of birds by Graham Montgomery and Sevilla Rhoads.

“I believe that interdisciplinary collaboration within the Earth sciences is the key to advancing knowledge of air pollution impacts on birds.”

– Olivia Sanderfoot in her new Merge guest blog: esipfed.org/merge
