Next IT&I Tech Dive Webinar: Meet the openEO Team (Oct 13)

openEO is a modern high-level API aiming to define earth observation processing workflows independent from the infrastructure in which they are processed. It is based on the concept of virtual data cubes. A broad ecosystem of open-source client and server implementations has evolved around it.

Join us for the Information Technology and Interoperability (IT&I) Tech Dive Webinar with openEO and the USGS Community for Data Integration (CDI) on Thursday, October 13 at 1 p.m. EDT.

How WDS helps provide universal, equitable access to data around the world (Oct 4)

Meredith Goins is the executive director of the World Data System (WDS) – International Program Office (IPO). WDS is an Interdisciplinary Body of the International Science Council (ISC; formerly ICSU) working to provide universal, equitable access to data around the world. She will be presenting at the NOAA Science Seminar series on Tuesday, October 4 at 1 p.m. EDT. Register through NOAA for this free and publicly available webinar.

Disabilities in Disasters (Oct 4)

Hosted by the All Hazards Consortium, this free webinar at noon EDT covers what actions should be taken to address individuals with disabilities before, during, and after a disaster. Register through the Business Resiliency Virtual Discussion Series.

Accessing and Analyzing Air Quality Data from Geostationary Satellites (Oct 11, 18, and 25)

This will be a three-part webinar series in partnership with NOAA and the National Institute Of Environmental Research (NIER, South Korea) on air quality (AQ) data analysis from geostationary satellites. The webinar series will a) provide an overview of geostationary capabilities for monitoring air quality around the world; b) introduce geostationary aerosol datasets from GOES-East, GOES-West, Himawari 8, and the Geostationary Environment Monitoring Spectrometer (GEMS); and 3) present data access and python tools to read and analyze the datasets. Register with NASA's ARSET program.
