ESIP UPDATE: 06.25.18

Good Morning –

We are three weeks until the 2018 ESIP Summer Meeting! Early registration rates for the full week for both members and nonmembers end this week and our hotel block will also close on 6/30.

For those who have not been to an ESIP meeting, this is a great chance to connect with data management, stewardship and science colleagues across agencies, industries and sectors on your challenges. The agenda is shaping up nicely with great workshops and breakout sessions covering everything from cloud and HDF tutorials to research project management to research object citation. Most of the meeting is spent in working sessions so that this is a productive meeting and one where you can directly apply your learning the next week.

Last week we announced the call for Research as Art submissions. This is a chance to share just a figure from your poster as art or other creative expression of your work. This will be our third Research as Art event and it is amazing every time to see the amount of creative energy and talent.

Finally, this Wednesday at 3 ET, Visioneers + staff will be holding a call for session leads that want more details on how to lead a productive session at ESIP. This should be a good call for both new and returning session leads.

Thanks & have a good week,
Erin
