ESIP UPDATE: 05.07.18

Good Morning –

This weekend we passed a significant milestone with the 20th anniversary of the first ESIP meeting – May 5-7, 1998. We are beginning a year of celebrating ESIP, our accomplishments together and a plan to steward our own artifacts documenting the history and outcomes of community. These were the original members & funded projects.

Last week I was in Tucson, AZ with Annie Keyes on a site visit for the Summer Meeting. I am so excited about the opportunities we will have to engage across campus with groups like the Tree Ring Lab, BioSphere2 and CyVerse that are working on Earth science data and technology. Details on our trip will be shared separately & with Visioneers later this week.

Finally, over the last year Annie Burgess has created ESIP Lab, which encompasses the innovation lifecycle and tangible outcomes of ESIP through idea farming, incubator awards and technical evaluation. The Lab is launching a newsletter this week that will go to the active subscribers of this list.

Thanks & have a good week,

Erin
