I am delighted to welcome Samantha Sands as the new ESIP Meetings Director! Samantha's first day was last Monday, November 4.
Samantha will lead the organization of ESIP in-person events with a continued focus on providing excellent community support to improve collaboration. She will be working with the ESIP staff and community on our twice annual ESIP meetings, grant-specific awards and with some outreach at other meetings like AGU Fall Meeting. Her background is in environmental geoscience and museum & field studies with a B.S. from University of Michigan and an M.S. from University of Colorado. Samantha has spent the past 17 years working in informal science education in museums and most recently, she has been the Earth and Space Science Program Specialist at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. You can read her full bio here.
Samantha's unique combination of skills makes her the ideal addition to our team. We are looking forward to continuing to improve and professionalize our meetings. I would invite you to stop by the ESIP Data Help Desk booth to meet Samantha at AGU Fall Meeting or virtually welcome her with an email to Samanthasands@esipfed.org.
