Earth Observation for Land Management

March 3 @ 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM EST

Bridging the Gap: Earth Observations Data for Land Management

Abstract:
Land managers increasingly need Earth observation data to make critical decisions, yet
significant barriers remain in accessing and using these products effectively. This introductory
webinar for the new ESIP EO for Land Management team explores the disconnect between EO data
producers and end users across diverse land management contexts. We will examine real-world
scenarios that highlight common challenges and discuss pathways to develop more
user-responsive data products.

Speakers:
Andy Lister,
Elizabeth Hoy,
Amanda Armstrong,
Everett Hinkley

Who should attend:
Land managers, Earth observation data producers, researchers, and anyone interested in
bridging the gap between EO data and practical land management applications.

This Cluster—formerly the Applied Earth Observations Innovations Partnership (AEOIP)—fosters interagency partnerships to advance Earth Observation–based land management.
By connecting EO experts with land management experts, we seek to increase awareness of new EO
capabilities, as well as research and operational management challenges, in order to help
formulate solutions through effective integration of data.
