ESIP UPDATE: 03.12.18

2018 Summer Meeting Call for Sessions is Open!

Time to get your project/cluster/committee needs and plans together. We are looking for another great Summer Meeting filled with good friends, collective intelligence, world-class conversations, and the answers to that latest Earth data pain point you're facing.

In 2018, ESIP celebrates twenty years of “Making Data Matter”! In this year, we hope to grow our grasp of the “ESIP way” so that we can become better at spinning up (and spinning down) clusters and continue to challenge ourselves to work together to make Earth data matter!

Best,
Bruce and the ESIP staff

P.S. Keep up on all the action on Slack! If you are not already on the ESIP Slack team: here is your INVITATION.  If you are on Slack, are you using the Slack App? It's a much better GUI. Grab it HERE

EDI: Summer 2018 Fellowship Program
The Environmental Data Initiative (EDI) is excited to announce six data management training fellowships for the period June 4 – August 13, 2018.

The application deadline is March 25, 2018. For details and other important dates please visit our website here.

The fellows will receive training in data management and gain hands-on experience through participation in data preparation, archiving and publishing with scientists at specific host research sites. The training program begins with an in-person workshop at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque (June 5 – June 7, 2018), during which the fellows learn about the process of data publishing. The knowledge gained will then be applied at the host sites.
