ESIP UPDATE: 05.29.18

Good Morning –

This is a quick update for a short week.

As I mentioned in last week's update this week we launched the Earth and Environmental Science Information Partners (E2SIP). It was an exciting 1-day workshop that covered a lot of ground from FAIR data and services to drones to vocabularies and cloud. The full agenda and materials from the workshop can be found here..

Summer Meeting News: The final schedule has been posted to Sched. The plenary is coming together with three components – disaster + data, water resources + data and collaboration + data. Speakers are being finalized and will be announced next week. We will also put out the call for Research as Art this week.

Finally, this is the last week to submit Incubator proposals to the ESIP Lab. Details are below.

Thanks & have a good week,

Erin

SeedMe workshop: Collaborative data sharing infrastructure for researchers
Date: Aug 24, 2018 (9am – 5pm PDT)
Venue: San Diego Supercomputer Center
Workshop information: https://www.seedme.org/events/seedme-workshop-2018

SeedMe workshop will provide a hands on experience to create and use data sharing infrastructure for research purpose. The workshop will introduce the SeedMe2 platform (supported by NSF) that provides powerful data organization and data sharing tools. The platform supports extensive customization and rapid collaboration by providing an ability to collocate data, its description and its discussion in one spot. The workshop attendees will take away a fully functioning data sharing website for exploring its use in their projects. See more information on the workshop page.
