ESIP UPDATE: 11.08.21

Hi ESIPers

It's that time of year. Time to start getting excited about this year’s Ignite@AGU! Speakers have been selected and it is a fantastic group. Keep an eye on @ESIPfed on Twitter as we highlight speakers in the leadup to the AGU Fall Meeting. But as a preview, I’ve combined a few words from each of their titles to create some intrigue: “Geomorphology digging disaster: A high elevation explosion in things that annoy me about space exploration.” Ignite@AGU will be in person at the AGU Fall Meeting on December 15!

Some more exciting news from around ESIP, Geoweaver is reaching its 1.0 stable release — this is a big deal. A project that started out with <$10K of funding through the ESIP Lab is ushering a paradigm shift in the way researchers develop and share full-stack workflows. Congrats, Ziheng Sun from George Mason University on all your hard work!

Lastly, a reminder that registration is open for the ESIP January Meeting (Jan 18-21, 2022, ONLINE). The theme of the meeting is Data for All People: From Generation to Use and Understanding. Today is the deadline for our Call for Sessions— we’re always impressed by our community's contributions!

Have a fantastic week,

Annie Burgess

ESIP Lab Director
