ESIP Update: Hackweeks, ESIP.local, and more events!

Happy almost equinox! Fall is in full swing and there are many #EarthScienceData events going on.

In the ESIP Update this week:

Note from our Community Director

Hello ESIP!

It’s that time of year when we look to recruit our next cohort of ESIP Community Fellows and we need your help to find them and encourage them to apply.

Our Fellows are some of the most inspiring ESIP contributors! If you’re not familiar with the program, each year we pair 8-10 graduate students with ESIP Collaboration Areas on themed topics, where they become embedded and provide support, as well as share their research.

The Fellows make important contributions to these groups and are pivotal for the execution of our twice annual ESIP Meetings. Many of our Fellows have reported that engaging with ESIP opens doors to new fields, opportunities, and connections that they would not have otherwise made. We still benefit from the engagement of many past ESIP Fellows, whether you realize it or not, throughout our community!

Thanks for your help connecting us to applicants. Share the posting on LinkedIn and the direct link to the application: esipfed.org/community-fellows

Have a wonderful week!
