The ESIP Federation welcomes new members who:

  • Embrace the ideal of collaborative exchange to further the understanding of the environmental health of our planet.
  • Are looking to network with diverse organizations.
  • Help researchers and decision-makers deal with critical environmental issues.
  • Connect with data providers, researchers and tool developers.

Membership applications are invited from any interested groups including data centers, research institutes, educational groups, commercial interests and other organizations that provide Earth science data and technology services. The work of the ESIP Federation is done through its  Clusters, Committees and Working Groups which convene monthly in telecons and at twice yearly at meetings in January and July. The ESIP Federation seeks members who are enthusiastic about its work and are willing to become active participants within the community. The process for becoming an ESIP Federation partner is straightforward, beginning with submitting an application form.

A completed application is submitted to the Partnership Committee, which reviews and posts the application for a 30-day member comment period. At the conclusion of the comment period, a formal vote of the Assembly is taken. There currently are no dues for membership in the ESIP Federation. New applicants are welcome to participate in any telecon or meeting prior to submitting an application.
